Paul’s roots run deep in the heart of Victoria, growing up on a family farm along the majestic Murray River. After school, he spent two years on the property before transitioning to a fulfilling 25-year career in emergency services in Melbourne.
In 2012, now settled in a rural area on the outskirts of Melbourne, living solely on tank water, Paul discovered the crucial need for efficient and affordable tank cleaning. Existing services were limited and expensive, prompting him to explore the industry further.
This led him to “The Watertank Cleaning Company,” founded by Frank Hyett in 1992. After experiencing the effectiveness of Frank’s service firsthand, Paul, along with a partner, purchased the business under a licensing agreement, covering all of Central and Western Victoria.
Balancing the business part-time with their demanding shift work, Paul and his partner steadily built a reputation for reliable service until 2021. By then, they had established a strong brand presence, leading Paul to dedicate himself full-time to tank cleaning.
In early 2024, Paul took full ownership of The Watertank Cleaning Company – Central and Western Victoria, and his enthusiasm for providing a friendly, affordable, and essential service remains as strong as ever.
The nature of the business has allowed Paul to travel extensively, discovering hidden gems and breathtaking scenery across Victoria. His service area has expanded to the state’s outer borders, with regular trips up the Murray River, across the West to the South Australian border, and along the coast from Geelong to Portland.
